Film School returns in February

Bijgewerkt op: 6 jan

After two successful editions, Film School returns for its third edition this February.

A creative film program for young people aged 18 to 30 from the Amsterdam region who want to explore visual storytelling and make a short film from scratch.

Over the course of 12 weeks, participants work in tea

ms to develop their own short film. Guided by professionals from the film industry, they translate a social theme into a visual story, moving from concept and script to directing, camera, sound and editing. Throughout the program, participants work with professional equipment and gain hands-on experience in the full filmmaking process.

Film School is organized in collaboration with Topkapi Films, who connect the program to industry professionals and productions. Where possible, participants may gain additional on-set experience through internships or work placements on Topkapi projects.

Open Studio also joins the program, introducing participants to film and media education opportunities and supporting Film School with access to professional gear during the process.

No prior experience is needed. Whether you want to explore filmmaking or are considering a future in film, Film School offers a space to learn, experiment and collaborate.

The program concludes with a public premiere. Films from the first edition were screened at PathƩ, marking a shared moment where ideas turned into work on the big screen. A second film is currently in production.

Participation is free.

The program starts on February 9 and takes place weekly in Amsterdam.
