Last week marked the final step of the first edition of Film School: the premiere. After twelve weeks of workshops, rehearsals and shoot days, the participants presented their short film on the big screen at Pathé Noord.
Friends, family and professionals from the film industry gathered to watch the results and celebrate the end of this creative process.
Over the past months, the group has learned every part of filmmaking: from developing a concept and writing a script to directing, camera work, sound and postproduction. Working in teams and guided by professionals, they translated their personal ideas and social themes into a short film.
The short film tells the story of a lonely ferry guard, exploring themes of isolation and connection through small, everyday moments.
The premiere was a moment to look back on the process: from the first workshop to the shoot days in Amsterdam Noord and the final edits. Step by step, the participants turned their ideas into the film.
Film School is about more than learning technical skills. It's also about collaboration and discovering how to tell your own story. The premiere showed the result of that process and the dedication behind it.
A fitting conclusion to twelve weeks of learning, experimenting and working together.
