Vincent Goes North x JCDecaux: Final Works in Public Space

Bijgewerkt op: 12 uur geleden

This edition of Vincent Goes North once again moves into the city. From 21 January, the work of the participants will be visible across Amsterdam through digital billboards, in collaboration with JCDecaux and the Van Gogh Museum

Vincent Goes North is a creative program in which young makers develop a personal art concept inspired by their own story and the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh. Working with photography and writing, participants translated themes such as identity, resilience and meaning into image and text.

From process to public space

Each participant created one photograph and one poem. The work is shared with a wide audience through JCDecaux's digital screens across the city as part of The Gallery, a project that brings photography into public space. By placing the images in everyday surroundings, the works invite moments of reflection beyond museum walls.

Listening to the stories behind the images

Alongside the visual presentation, the poems are available as short podcast episodes on Spotify. In each episode a participant reads their poem aloud, offering insight into the personal story that formed the starting point of their image.

Together, the photographs and poems form a collection of contemporary perspectives, showing how young makers connect Van Gogh's legact to their own experiences and voices today.

Vincent Goes North is organized in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum and continues to create space for artistic development and personal storytelling in public space.
