HUBS: A new program during Amsterdam Dance Event

Amsterdam Dance Event is known worldwide as the week when music takes over the city: clubs, venues and conference halls filled with beats, ideas and connections. But what if you’ve never set foot in that world? If the heart of ADE feels out of reach?

That’s where the HUBS come in. Spread across Amsterdam Noord, Nieuw-west and Zuidoost, the HUBs bring the energy of ADE into the neighborhoods. They’re made for young people between 18 and 30 who may not yet feel connected to the festival, but are curious to explore what music and events can mean. Both for fun and for a future career.

The HUBs are co-created with local youth. Participants shape the program, help organize the days and support promotion. Alongside workshops and talks with industry professionals, they gain hands-on experience in production: from hosting and ticket scanning to assisting speakers and setting up stages.

In the run-up, participants also vist ADE’s headquarters and attend talks, offering a direct look behind the scenes od the music industry. It’s a process that builds not only skills, but also confidence and networks.

ADE has always been about connection: between artists and fans, professionals and newcomers, Amsterdam and the world. The HUBs add another layer to that mission, ensuring the festival resonates locally, in every corner of the city.
