Last Wednesday, Film School came together for a premiere at Pathé Noord. Four short films, created by the participants during the program, were screened on the big screen and celebrated together with friends, family and partners.
Film School is a creative film program for young people from the Amsterdam region who want to explore visual storytelling and make a short film from scratch. Over twelve weeks, participants worked in teams through every step of the filmmaking process, from concept and script to directing, camera, sound and editing. Guided by professionals from the film industry, they translated social themes into personal visual stories.
The premiere marked the closing moment of this shared process, bringing weeks of research, experimentation and collaboration together in one collective viewing experience.
Film School is organized in collaboration with Topkapi and Open Studio. Through this partnership, participants were supported by industry professionals and worked with professional equipment, closely connecting the learning process to real-world filmmaking practice.
The evening at Pathé Noord celebrated not only four finished films, but also the courage to explore social themes through film, and the growth that comes from making stories together.
