Financial literacy is extremely important for a healthy society. Unfortunately, more and more young people are struggling with financial problems such as debt. In today’s society, it is becoming increasingly important for young people to be able to equip themselves with the right knowledge and skills. Rabobank is committed to promoting financial health, which includes paying special attention to teaching young people what they don’t (always) learn at home or at school. Common Culture and Rabobank joined forces to make this happen.

In order to reach this younger target group, it was essential to become part of their world and not to communicate from the perspective of the system. Common Culture therefore involved its sister company Geuren & Kleuren Media. Geuren & Kleuren Media produces and publishes several successful podcasts that reach this target group on a daily basis. These titles also aim to contribute something with their podcasts in addition to entertainment. This also applies to CONVO (Defano Holwijn, Armin Shah, Yuki Christus). The topic of financial literacy had already been covered in previous episodes they had made. Since collaborating with Geuren & Kleuren Media, this motivated them to think about a way to discuss these topics for their target group.
The connection was quickly made, and after a unique joint effort between all parties involved, CONVO: Money Talks was launched in May 2025, covering topics such as debt, investing, side jobs, buying houses, and much more. The title immediately caught on in the news and with the target audience.
Money Talks was recently discussed on NPO Radio 1, where Défano and Yuki talked about the origins of the series and shared their own financial lessons.
