Club Kids presents Evolute

Club Kids is a program powered by Common Culture for young talent that aims to diversify, strengthen, and enrich Amsterdam’s nightlife culture. With this edition we present a new concept:

Evolute. Evolute is an expo-club night that takes you on a physical journey through the evolution of club-focused electronic music, with us pointing our attention towards the progression of the groovier house subgenres for our first showcase.

From the disco-evolved early house tracks, through the ’90s expansion of Chicago house into deeper, more percussive and stripped-back forms—including early tech house, breakbeat-influenced club tracks and the roots of minimal—and into the present day, where the harder, more euphoric edges of modern groove-driven house and hardhouse have raised the genre’s popularity to new heights.

Expect deep grooves, hard bass kicks, visual imagery showing how these sounds came to be, and lots and lots of vinyl. One night. Decades of…
