Urban Talentz - The Gap Project

Bijgewerkt op: 11 mrt. 2021

The current pandemic makes it a lot more difficult than before for (up-and-coming) young professionals within the cultural industry to gain the necessary relevant knowledge and work experience. While it initially seemed that finding a solution for all problems that come with all Covid-19 related restrictions would mainly be challenging for the summer 2020, we now know that it will take a little longer for everything to go back to “normal”.

A very frustrating situation for the career plans of the aforementioned talent. However, current developments do not necessarily mean that there are no options to work on developing your own skills. In order to help these talents out, we’ve teamed up with De Kandidatenmarkt. With their Urban Talentz program, they already have been guiding students with similar challenges and they reached out to us in the summer of 2020 to create a brand new and more layered program in which we could help talents gain more insight, more experience and a larger network in the working field of their future profession. We designed a program called The Gap Project in which we partnered up with organizations like Vice, DGTL Festival, Evian Water and also cultural institutions like Rijksmuseum, Scheepsvaart Museum. Together we came up with social challenges for our participants in which they were challenged to put their skills to work to, together with these commissioners, create either social or environmental impact on a micro level.
